New Projects starting at the Institute of Economics!

We are happy to announce that the Institute of Economics has begun work on the following projects involving international partnerships:

  • SESTEM - Supporting Equality in Science Technology and Mathematics related choices of careers (to run from November 2009 to October 2011). This is a LLP Grundtvig project. The aim is the development of a strategy for the implementation of systemic and regulatory changes in education, with particular regard for the issue of gender equality. The research will result in reports and analysis on both national and European scales. Project partners are: Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas, Université de Bretagne Occidentale, Universität der Bundeswehr München, University of Durham, Universitat de Barcelona, University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow.
  • BenchTour - Benchlearning in the Tourism Sector (to run from October 2009 to September 2010). This is a Leonardo da Vinci project. The aim is to improve the competencies of management Staff in the tourism sector by using the methods of BenchEffect® which were one of the results of the EQUAL Project. Project partners are: DAA Deutsche Angestellten-Akademie GmbH, Landestourismusverband Brandenburg e. V., Pixel Associazione, University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Center for Social and Economic Research Ltd., Asociatia pentru Turism Bucovina (Bucovina Tourism Association), C.I.D.Af - Innovation and Business Development Center, Florida Centre De Formacio, CV.
  • USEREC – Upgrading Self Reflective Competences in SME’s (to run from October 2009 to September 2011). This is a LLP Leonardo da Vinci project. It involves the definition of training programs for women in the SME sector based on their use of IT in management. The increased capacity of SMEs to take advantage of IT business solutions will be drawn from a pedagogical approach, both in its conception and implementation tested and finalized throughout the project’s life cycle. Project partners are: Idryma Technologias kai Ereynas (Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas) Greece, Center for Social and Economic Research Ltd. Poland, Deutsche Angestellten–Akademie Berlin-Neukoelln Niemcy, University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, Dimos Arhanon (Municipality of Archanes) Greece, Epimelitirio Irakliou (Heraklion Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Greece.
